***UPDATE Sept 19, 2018*** Pole Creek and Bald Mountain Fire Updates

Closures and evacuations still in place for Pole Creek/Bald Mountain Fires. One change in evacuation zone on US Hwy 89. Residents from Eagles Landing south to county line are now PRE-evacuation.

The Pole Creek and Bald Mountain Fires are still being actively fought in Utah and Juab Counties. Road closures and mandatory evacuation orders are still in place, with one small change. As of early on September 19, 2018, Pole Creek size is 84,444 acres with 25% containment, with 1,303 personnel. Bald Mountain reports 16,554 acres with 12% containment, with 654 personnel. 6,000 people have been evacuated, effecting 2,000 homes. Fire officials say today is a Red Flag day, with higher winds and low humidity. This website gives more specific information about both fires: inciweb.nwcg.gov

The following evacuations and closures are still in place:

--Santaquin Canyon is closed.

--Payson Canyon is closed.

Nebo Loop Road at SR-132 in Nephi Canyon is closed.

--US Highway 89, in Spanish Fork Canyon, is closed from mile 312, at Thistle Junction, to mile 302, just north of Eagles Landing.

--Right Fork Hobble Creek is closed.


--***UPDATE*** Reduction in evacuation area. The evacuation area on US Hwy 89 is from Thistle Junction to mile 302, slightly north of the Eagles Landing development. Residents on both sides of Hwy 89 from Eagles Landing south may return to their homes as of 6:00 PM this date. They will return to PRE-EVACUTION status.

--All residents in the Covered Bridge community near the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon.

--All residents living in the cities of Woodland Hills and Elk Ridge.

--Diamond Fork, Sheep Creek, and Right Fork Hobble Creek Canyon.

--For residents in these areas who have urgent need to get to their home (For medications or to remove pets or livestock, for example), access points are set up at 11200 S Woodland Hills Drive for Woodland Hills, and 11200 S Elk Ridge Drive (1600 West) for Elk Ridge. These limited trips must be brief. Access to Covered Bridge may not be available. A Deputy will escort those who have these needs.

--Left Fork Hobble Creek Canyon is under PRE-evacuation notice. (“Be ready in case” status.)
